Gaming PCs built for Minecraft

Minecraft is easy to run at the basics, but shaders, big render distances and heavy modpacks push it much further than most players expect. Every build on this page is matched against Minecraft’s official 2026 requirements, so you know exactly what performance to expect before you buy.

What actually matters for Minecraft performance

Minecraft: Java Edition just had its first major requirements reset in 17 years, moving from OpenGL to Vulkan. Here’s what actually moves the needle now.

Vulkan changes the baseline

Mojang’s July 2026 update raised the bar to a Vulkan 1.3-capable GPU with at least 2GB VRAM. Older integrated graphics that used to scrape by on Minecraft can now struggle to even launch it.

Shaders need real GPU headroom

Popular shader packs like Complementary, BSL and renewed SEUS look nothing like vanilla Minecraft on the GPU. A GTX 1660 / RX 6600 is the practical floor, with an RTX 3060 or better for a comfortable 1080p experience.

Big modpacks are RAM-hungry

Heavy Forge and Fabric modpacks like RLCraft, All The Mods and Create-based packs routinely want 32GB of system RAM and a fast NVMe SSD, with several GB allocated directly to the Java launcher.

Build bigger. Render further.

Massive builds, far render distances and shader-heavy worlds all lean on steady frame rates. Our Minecraft builds keep it smooth whether you’re exploring, redstoning or surviving with friends.

Minecraft system requirements

Mojang reset Minecraft: Java Edition’s official requirements in July 2026 with the move to Vulkan. Plus a shaders/modded tier for players going beyond vanilla, for reference against the builds below.

Minecraft PC FAQ

Do I need a powerful GPU to play vanilla Minecraft?
Not really. Vanilla Minecraft at default settings runs comfortably on modest hardware. Where a stronger GPU matters is shaders, far render distances and resource packs, which lean much harder on graphics power than the base game.
What changed with Minecraft’s 2026 system requirements?
In July 2026, Mojang raised the official baseline for the first time in 17 years, moving Java Edition from OpenGL to Vulkan. The new minimum needs a Vulkan 1.3-capable GPU with 2GB VRAM and a 4-core CPU, while the recommended tier targets 1080p at 60fps on Fancy settings.
Can these PCs handle shaders like Complementary or BSL?
Yes. Our shaders/modded tier builds are specced with at least a GTX 1660 / RX 6600, with RTX 3060-and-above builds giving a genuinely comfortable 1080p shader experience.
How much RAM do I need for modded Minecraft?
Light mod use is fine with 16GB, but heavy Forge or Fabric modpacks like RLCraft, All The Mods or Create-based packs are much happier with 32GB, since several GB often need to be allocated directly to the Java launcher.
Do I need a fast SSD for Minecraft?
Yes, more than people expect. Large survival worlds, big render distances and modded instances all generate and load a lot of chunk data, so an NVMe SSD noticeably reduces stutter and load times compared to a hard drive.
Can I upgrade my PC later if I get into heavier modpacks?
Yes. Every ASC gaming PC uses standard, upgradeable components, so you can add more RAM, swap in a newer GPU, or expand storage down the line without replacing the whole system.
